Assistant Status
Understanding your assistant's status and what each state means.
States
Your assistant can be in one of these states, shown as a status badge on the dashboard:
Running
Your assistant is active and processing messages. The dashboard shows a green status badge. This is the normal operating state.
Suspended
Your assistant was idle for a while (Starter plan) or your trial/subscription ended, and it has been paused to save resources. All your data and configuration are fully preserved.
Your assistant will automatically resume when:
- A message arrives on any connected channel
- You manually start it from the dashboard
Messages that arrive while your assistant is suspended are not lost. They are queued and delivered once your assistant wakes up.
Starting
Your assistant is booting up. This happens after a resume from suspension or after you make configuration changes that require a restart. It usually takes just a few seconds.
Error
Your assistant encountered a problem (crash or health check failure). Check the logs in Settings > Diagnostics for details. You can attempt a restart from the dashboard to recover.
If the error persists, contact support.
State Transitions
Your assistant moves between these states automatically:
- Starting leads to Running once your assistant is ready
- Running can become Suspended after a period of inactivity (Starter plan only)
- Suspended returns to Running when a message arrives or you manually resume
- Error can be resolved by restarting from the dashboard
Checking Status
View your assistant's current status on the Chelar dashboard home page. The status badge shows a colored indicator:
- Green, Running
- Yellow, Starting
- Gray, Suspended
- Red, Error
