Idle Suspension
How Chelar manages your assistant's uptime, auto-suspension and auto-resume.
Overview
To keep things running efficiently, Chelar can automatically suspend assistants that have been idle for a while. Whether this applies to you depends on your plan:
| Plan | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Trial | Always-on (full Pro features) |
| Starter | Suspended after a period of inactivity |
| Pro | Always-on |
How It Works
- Active, Your assistant is running and processing messages normally.
- Idle, If no messages come in for a while and you don't have any active scheduled tasks, your assistant may be suspended (Starter plan only).
- Suspended, Your assistant is paused to save resources. All your data and configuration are fully preserved.
- Auto-resume, When a new message arrives on any connected channel, your assistant automatically wakes up and processes the message.
Messages Are Never Lost
Messages that arrive while your assistant is suspended are not lost. They are queued and delivered to your assistant as soon as it wakes up, in the order they were received.
Keeping Your Assistant Always-On
Starter plan assistants pause when idle. Upgrade to Pro for always-on mode and scheduled tasks, your assistant stays running 24/7 so automations execute reliably.
What's Preserved During Suspension
Everything. When your assistant is suspended, all your data is safely stored:
- Chat history and memory
- Channel credentials and connections
- Configuration and plugins
- Workspace files
- Scheduled task definitions (resumed when your assistant wakes up)
Resume Time
When your assistant wakes up from suspension, there may be a brief delay (a few seconds) before it responds to the first message. After that, responses are fast as usual.
